Understanding FSA & HSA Benefits
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) can help you manage the cost of eligible healthcare services, including kinesiotherapy. At Fit and Functional we do not directly accept these payments, however reimbursement is available depending on your insurance plan.
ELIGIBILITY
When is care covered?
Kinesiotherapy is generally eligible for HSA or FSA reimbursement when prescribed by a physician as medically necessary to treat a specific diagnosed condition. This typically includes reconditioning for functional limitations or recovery from surgery. While insurance plans vary significantly, our services focus on clinical movement rather than general fitness. We recommend discussing your specific benefits with your plan administrator.
Reimbursement
Pay out of pocket at the time of purchase and submit your receipt along with any required supporting documentation to your FSA or HSA administrator to request reimbursement in accordance with your plan’s guidelines.
How to Use Your Benefits
HSA/FSA Card
Unfortunately, we are not able to accept direct FSA or HSA payments at this time. However, many clients are still able to use these benefits by submitting receipts for reimbursement.
What You May Need
To facilitate a smooth reimbursement process, most plan administrators require specific documentation to verify that services meet guidelines for medical necessity. While every plan varies, these are the common items you may be asked to provide:
- Letter of Medical Necessity: A signed recommendation from your physician confirming that kinesiotherapy is required for a diagnosed medical condition.
- Detailed Receipts: Itemized documentation including our provider name, specific dates of service, and a clear description of the session.
- Provider ICD-10 Codes: Specific medical diagnosis codes that are often required by administrators to process clinical movement claims.
